This was my last official week as Benji's trainer. The plan for this internship is to constantly rotate dogs and partners to avoid attachment to the dogs and to give us opportunities to work with different people and work on those life skills. We had a last good week together, it was busy a lot of the time because I was studying for finals, but he helped me! He also went to a few of my finals with me, which he slept through the entire time (which I wish I could do). Last night, we snuggled a little bit before he decided that the dog bed was better than my bed, which was fine, and I understood (he's never been a huge snuggler). Then today, we spent a lot of the day hanging out while my partner packed and got ready to go home herself before she picked him up. It hasn't hit me yet that he's gone for a whole month, but my partner said she's going to be updating me throughout the break about him, so I'm excited! With it being the end of the semester and since I am not bringing a dog home for break, this will be my last post for awhile, I hope you all have a good month and I will be back on here with the start of the new semester with a new dog! I am excited about the opportunity for a new dog and partner! I will never forget my first dog I trained and how special he is!
