Today was the end of the summer guard meal and so we went to a local Mexican restaurant in a railroad car. Last time I went it was SUPER busy, but today it was a lot more chill with fewer people. Neeco, of course, was on his best behavior for the entire endeavor, he slept for a majority of the meal and only got up near the end to readjust where he was laying. We then went to a bike shop, so that I could buy some tools to work on my bike. He did okay when we went there. He got really excited when the guy showed me what I was looking for and he jumped on the guy. I apologized profusely and explained that he still is in training. After the incident and my quick departure, I realized that maybe the guy might have been a diabetic and Neeco was just alerting him for a change in his blood sugar, but it's too late to find out now. We then went to Target because I bought a planner for the wrong year a couple of days ago, so I went with some of my friends from camp. He did so well when they were shopping around looking at all of the clothes and he also did super well with all of the kids and my fast walking throughout the store. Overall, it was a really good public access trip. It saddens me to think that this is the last time that I may be working with such a handsome, smart boy. He's going up north for the weekend with his family and the day after he gets back, I am leaving for a camping trip with one of my friends before the school year starts. On that note, this will probably be the last post that I do until we get assigned our new teams and that means that the school year is starting! It'll be my final year at UWRF and I really look forward to spending it training an assistance dog!
