Today, we went over the Fair Housing Act and how it applies to assistance dogs and emotional support animals. There were a lot stuff to go through. We talked about the criteria that would require a dwelling to make reasonable accommodations for the person with the disability. We also talked about what was a "reasonable accommodation" and what would be the criteria for denying a person with a disability. It was interesting to learn more about the laws and each of the laws in depth. We also saw the short documentary that we are a part of talking about the training and placement of our diabetic alert dogs! The documentary is only within the first two minutes. We ended class by going through the dogs ability to do tasks in a testing scenario. Neeco did really well - except for the "go to your mat" part of the test. This was utterly surprising because he goes to his mat really well when I ask him to in every other situation. Linda was also wearing a scent sample and she had him go through the whole sequence as well and he did! I was so proud of him!! It's super cool to watch him grow and progress!
